      Infeksi Cacing Parascaris pada Kuda (Equus caballus) di Kabupaten Sumba Timur, Nusa Tenggara Timur

      Abstract
      Kecacingan pada kuda merupakan masalah gangguan kesehatan, penurunan performa produksi, reproduksi, hingga kematian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung prevalensi dan derajat infeksi Parascaris pada kuda di Kabupaten Sumba Timur, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Sebanyak 65 sampel feses dikumpulkan dari 10 kecamatan dan diperiksa menggunakan teknik McMaster dan flotasi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa sebanyak 8 dari 65 kuda (12,3%) terinfeksi Parascaris. Derajat infeksi Parascaris (264,65 Telur Tiap Gram Tinja (TTGT)) masuk dalam ketegori infeksi sedang. Analisis statistika menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan nyata prevalensi dan derajat infeksi Parascaris terhadap jenis kelamin dan umur.
       
      Helminthiasis in horses is a health disorder problem, decreased production performance, reproduction, and even death. This study aimed to calculate the prevalence and intensity of Parascaris infection of horses in East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. A total of 65 fecal samples were collected from 10 sub-districts and examined using the McMaster technique and simple flotation. The results showed that 8 out of 65 horses (12.3%) were infected with Parascaris. The intensity of infection of Parascaris (264.65 eggs per gram of fecal (EPG)) was in the moderate infection category. Statistical analysis showed that there ware no significant difference in the prevalence and intensity of infection Parascaris with sex and age.
