      Abstract
Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii). Toxoplasma gondii is a zoonotic parasite that causes a high prevalence of disease worldwide. Therefore, awareness raising and promotion of good preventive practices among pet shop staff and cat owners at the Pet Integrity (PI) and Pet Lovers Center (PLC) against toxoplasmosis is essential. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of Toxoplasmosis among pet owners and pet shop staff in Johor Bahru, Johor. The study was designed with a cross-sectional study and data from 50 respondents were collected face-to-face using a Google form questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by using Chi- square test to examine the relationship between respondent's demographics and level of knowledge on toxoplasmosis. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively by calculating the percentage of selected answers related to awareness and general knowledge about toxoplasmosis. The results showed that more than half (64%) of respondents from PLC and almost half (40%) of respondents from PI have a good level of knowledge. This study shows that gender, age, field of study, pet ownership, pet handling training among respondents did not have a significant relationship (p>0.05) with level and practice, however, the source of information obtained among respondents had a significant relationship (p<0.05) with the level of knowledge of toxoplasmosis. From this study, it is known that the overall level of knowledge and awareness of respondents about toxoplasmosis is included in the good category. Keywords: knowledge, pet shop, questionnaire, respondents, toxoplasmosis
