      Abstract

Long-tailed monkey (Macaca fascicularis) is an animal that is prone to extinction and is infected with the parasite Cryptosporidium sp. Besides infecting M. fascicularis, Cryptosporidium sp. It also infects humans and has the potential to cause zoonotic diseases. Therefore, this research needs to be done to identify the presence of Cryptosporidium sp. on M fascicularis. This study aims to examine the presence of Cryptosporidium sp. in feces of M. fascicularis incaptivity of ex situ PSSP IPB. Examination of stool samples by flotation method (35) and Ziehl Neelsen staining (69). The results of this examination indicate that the infection rate of Cryptosporidium sp. on M. fascicularis adultby flotation method and Ziehl Neelsen staining were 25.71% and 24.64%, respectively. The infection rate of Cryptosporidium sp. in M. fascicularis youngwith the Ziehl Neelsen staining method as much as 27.27%. This indicates that M. fascicularis are youngmore easily infected with Cryptosporidium sp.
