Gambaran Umum Terapi Penyakit Skabies pada Kucing di Pusat Kesehatan Hewan Wilayah IV Laladon Kabupaten Bogor Tahun 2019-2020

Abstract

Kucing merupakan salah satu hewan populer di masyarakat yang memerlukan perawatan khusus agar tidak terjangkit berbagai macam penyakit. Salah satu penyakit yang sering terjadi pada kucing adalah skabies. Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh tungau Sarcoptes scabiei. Apabila skabies tidak ditangani dengan tepat, dapat menyebabkan hewan menjadi lemah, lesu, kurus, dan bahkan mati. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemilihan jenis sediaan obat dan terapi skabies pada kucing yang tepat, aman, dan efektif di Pusat Kesehatan Hewan Wilayah IV Kabupaten Bogor. Data pengobatan skabies diperoleh dari buku adminstrasi pasien harian di Pusat Kesehatan Hewan wilayah IV Laladon Kabupaten Bogor. Data diolah menggunakan Microsoft Excel 2019 kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kejadian skabies dari tahun 2019-2020 berjumlah 220 dan 191 kasus skabies. Hal tersebut berarti kasus skabies tahun 2019-2020 mengalami penurunan sebesar 7%. Terapi kausatif skabies menggunakan ivermectin dengan dosis 0,02 mg/kg BB. Ivermectin menjadi skabisida pilihan karena memiliki efektivitas yang baik dengan efek samping minimal

Cats are one of the popular companion animals in the community that need special care to prevent from being infected by various diseases. A common disease in cats is scabies. This skin disease is caused by Sarcoptes scabiei mites. If scabies is not treated correctly, it may lead to weakness, weight loss, or even death of the infected animal. The aim of this research was to determine the type of accurate, safe, and effective drug preparation for scabies treatment in cats at the Animal Health Center Laladon, Bogor. The method used was analysis of secondary data between 2019 to 2020 from the administration book of Fourth Region of Animal Health Center Laladon, Bogor. The results of this study showed that incidence of scabies in 2019 and 2020 by 220 and 190 cases scabies respectively. It mean the cases of scabiesin 2019-2020 decreased by 7% . Scabies causative treatment usingivermectin at dose of 0,02 mg/kg BW. Ivermectin is the right choice of scabicide because of its effectiveness overweighs the adverse effects
