      Tinjauan Literatur Tentang Keberhasilan Inseminasi Buatan pada Kucing berdasarkan Waktu Inseminasi, Jenis Semen, dan Lokasi Deposisi Semen

      Abstract
      Inseminasi buatan (IB) merupakan bioteknologi reproduksi yang banyak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas reproduksi. Teknologi IB pada kucing masih jarang dilaporkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis keberhasilan IB pada kucing berdasarkan waktu inseminasi, jenis semen, serta lokasi deposisi semen. Penelitian ini berupa studi literatur yang berasal dari penelitian yang telah ada sebelumnya. Jurnal yang memuat data keberhasilan IB pada kucing dikumpulkan menjadi sebuah database dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Keberhasilan IB pada kucing bergantung pada tepatnya waktu inseminasi saat terjadinya ovulasi setelah pemberian human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Jenis semen yang digunakan dan ketepatan dalam pemilihan lokasi deposisi juga menjadi penentu keberhasilan inseminasi buatan. Semen beku baik digunakan untuk inseminasi jangka panjang. Semen segar dapat menghasilkan tingkat kebuntingan yang lebih baik dibandingkan semen beku jika inseminasi dilakukan secara intrauterine. Deposisi semen secara intrauterine menghasilkan nilai konsepsi yang tinggi dibandingkan secara intravagina.
       
      Artificial insemination (AI) is a reproductive biotechnology widely used to increase the quality and quantity of reproduction. The technology AI in cats is rare. The study aims to analyze the success of insemination in cats based on time, type of semen, and location of semen deposition. This research is a literature study that comes from pre-existing research. Journals containing data on the success of AI in cats were collected into a database and analyzed descriptively. The artificial insemination in cats depends on the timing of insemination at ovulation after human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) administration. The type of semen and the accuracy in selecting the deposition route are also specific determinants of artificial insemination. Frozen semen is suitable for long-term insemination. However, the pregnancy rate of fresh semen better than frozen semen if the deposition is intrauterine. Semen deposition by intrauterine results in a higher conception rate than intravaginal.
