      Abstract
      Lipstik terdiri dari zat warna yang terdispersi dalam basis yang umumnya terbuat dari campuran lilin dan minyak. Campuran lilin dan minyak yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lanolin dan beeswax.. Warna merah pada bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) disebabkan karena kandungan antosianin. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji karakteristik fisikokimia dari lipstik yang diberi pewarna alami yang berasal dari bunga rosella. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap dengan satu faktor peubah, yaitu taraf ekstrak bunga rosella yang digunakan. Formulasi perlakuan dibedakan dengan taraf 0%, 20%, 40%, dan 60%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak bunga rosella memberikan warna merah pada sediaan lipstik yang dihasilkan, tetapi warna tersebut tidak dapat menempel saat dioleskan. Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata pada kelembapan dan pH yang dihasilkan dari setiap perlakuan dengan penambahan ekstrak bunga rosella. Seluruh sediaan memiliki titik leleh yang berada diantara 65-69°C.
       
      A lipstick consists of a dispersed colorant that is commonly made from a mixture of wax and oil within an optimal composition to provide the desired melting temperature and viscosity. The red color is produced by the anthocyanin that is contained in the Rosella flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). The goal of this research is to examine the physicochemical characteristics of a lipstick that is made from natural dyes extracted from the Rosella flowers. Completely random designed method with one variable factor use in this research, namely rosella flower extract levels. Treatment formulations differentiated by 0%, 20%, 40%, and 60%. The results showed that the rosella flower extract gave a red color to the lipstick, but the color did not stick when applied. There was no difference in humidity and pH resulting from each treatment with the addition of rosella flower extract. All preparations have a melting point between 65-69 °C.
