      Karakteristik Oriented Strand Board Bambu Betung, Bambu Ampel, dan Campurannya pada Kadar Perekat Berbeda

      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi karakteristik Bamboo Oriented Strand Board (BOSB) betung, ampel, dan campurannya dengan dua kadar perekat (3% dan 5%) methylene diphenyl di-isocyanate (MDI) berbeda. Perlakuan steam diterapkan pada strand dengan suhu 126 ̊C selama 1 jam dalam tekanan 0,14 MPa. Papan dibuat dengan kerapatan target ± 0,7 g.cm-3. Papan berukuran (30x30x0,9) cm3 disusun sebanyak 3 lapis dengan shelling ratio 25:50:25. Pengujian sifat fisis dan mekanis BOSB mengacu pada standar JIS A 5908 (2003) yang hasilnya dibandingkan dengan standar CSA 0437.0 (Grade O-1). Hasil dari pengujian menunjukkan bahwa BOSB campuran memiliki stabilitas dimensi dan sifat mekanis (MOE, MOR arah sejajar dan tegak lurus serat, serta kuat pegang sekrup) yang lebih tinggi dari BOSB tunggal. Seluruh BOSB dengan kadar perekat 5% memiliki stabilitas dimensi, MOE, dan MOR yang lebih tinggi dari BOSB dengan kadar perekat 3%. Secara keseluruhan, sifat fisis dan mekanis BOSB memenuhi standar CSA 0437.0 (Grade O-1).
       
      The objectives of this research were to evaluated characteristics of Bamboo Oriented strand Board (BOSB) betung, ampel. and their mixtures at two different contents (3% and 5%) of methylene diphenyl di-isocyanate (MDI) adhesives. The strands were steam at 126 ̊C for 1 hour under pressure of 0,14 MPa . The board had a target density of ±0.7 g.cm-3. Three layered of BOSB was made with the size of (30x30x0,9) cm3 and shelling ratio of 25:50:25. The physical and mechanical properties of BOSB were tested refers to JIS A 5908 (2003) and the results were compared with the CSA 0437.0 Grade O-1 standard. The result showed that mixtures BOSB has higher dimensional stability and mechanical properties (i.e. MOE, MOR in parallel-perendicular to grain directions, and screw holding strength) compared to single BOSB. All BOSB with 5% resin content have higher dimensional stability, MOE, and MOR compared to BOSB with 3% resin content. All BOSB in each physical and mechanical test met the CSA 0437.0 Grade O-1 standard.
