Strategi Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Perikanan Karang untuk Pemanfaatan yang Berkelanjutan (Kasus: Kepulauan Ayau, Kabupaten Raja Ampat, Provinsi Irian Jaya Barat)

Abstract

Indonesia failure to get property rights to Sipadan and Ligitan Island represent worth experience about importance of development policy to increase the social welfare in boundries island. Potency consideration and regional specific characteristics is properly placed forward in stimulating of development policy. Ayau Archipelago is one of boundry island in Raja Ampat Regency owning big enough reef fishery potency. Research objective were designed as the strategy of reef fishery resources management for sustainability exploitation in Ayau archipelago, Raja Ampat Regency. SWOT analysis is used to evaluate sustainability of management activities. The sustainability index shows 0,98 which mean reef fishery management activities was unsustain. There were some strategies to anticipate the condition; (1) friendly reef fishery management, (2) optimalization of reef fish potency, (3) development of business system, (4) development of PIR system in business ,(5) development of institution, (6) infrastructure repair of commerce and communication, (7) modernization and motorization of fishing unit, and (8) resource management base on society.
