      Abstract

Used oil waste that includes in the criteria for B3 waste (hazardous and toxic materials) has a direct impact on the environment because it can be accumulative on the environment so that the impact will threaten the existence of vegetation, animals, and the surrounding community. The planting activity with the type of salam (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp.) is expected to improve the polluted environment. The addition of organic materials such as goat manure and wood charcoal can improve the properties of the soil. The purpose of this study analyzes the effect of providing goat manure with wood charcoal funds on the growth of salam seeds, and to obtain information on the optimal dosage of goat manure and wood charcoal which can increase the growth of salam seeds on the soil media contaminated with used oil. The results of this study indicate that goat manure has a significant effect on the total wet weight. Treatment K4A1 (120 g goat manure+20 g wood charcoal) gave the best treatment for the height of treatment K0A0 (control) on seed diameter, K1A1 (30 g goat manure+20 g wood charcoal) for total dry weight, K0A1 (20 g wood charcoal) for root length, and K2A2 (30 g goat manure+ 20 g wood charcoal) for shoot root ratio.
