Triploid Clarias batrachus were produced by cold shocking eggs from 27OC to 5OC for 20 minutes. The triploidy technique was validated at an early stage by means of gynogenesis, and in juvenile fish by red blood cells (RBC) and DNA size and volume measurement by flow cytometer as indirect and direct method respectively. The effect of ploidy on growth performance was checked by feeding juvenile and adult fish. This work was conducted in three steps.
