dc.description.abstractSchistosomiasis japonicum was endemic zoonoses that infected human and animals surrounding Besoa valley, Napu valley and Lindu lake in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Enzyme Linked Immunosobent Assay (ELISA) was a simple, sensitive, and rapid serodiagnostic technique, which had been widely used for detection antibodies in parasitic diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal serum dilution for detection antibody against Schistosoma japonicum using indirect ELISA. Thirty samples of human serum were used in this research, which 15 samples of positive and 15 samples of negative. The test was compared between 1:50 and 1:100 dilutions. The result showed that the sensitivity 80%, specificity 86.7% and accuracy 83.33% were higher than the 1:100 dilution values. This showed that the best indirect ELISA optimization was the 1:50 dilution. The results were expected to be the complement of the previous study in the field.en
