Nilai ekonomi jalak bali dengan pendekatan willingness to pay sebesar Rp1.686.900/ekor.
Bali starling (Leucopsar rothschildi) is a priority bird species that has been protected since 1971. Factors that threaten the survival of Bali starlings are hunting and illegal trade. This has caused the population of Bali starlings in nature to decline because law enforcement officers have difficulty determining specific fines and penalties to provide a deterrent effect. This study aims to estimate the economic value of Bali starlings based on the market price approach, willingness to pay, and maintenance costs. The study was conducted from February to April 2024 in three different places. The market price approach method was carried out by searching data online and interviewing sellers, collecting data using the WTP approach method by interviewing visitors, and the maintenance cost approach using the interview method with managers. The economic value of Bali starlings with the market price approach is IDR 5,240,625/head. The economic value of Bali starlings with the willingness to pay approach is IDR 1,686,900/head. The economic value of Bali starlings with the maintenance cost approach is IDR 1,295,017/head. The market price method produces the best value in terms of economic value, effectiveness and efficiency of data collection, and the amount of costs incurred.
