Abstract: Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting (TNTP) merupakan kawasan konservasi yang memiliki ekosistem hutan gambut.
Tanjung Puting National Park (TNTP) is a conservation area which has a peat swamp forest ecosystem. Forests have the function of absorbing CO2 through the process of photosynthesis, the results of photosynthesis are then stored as biomass. The potential of TNTP to store biomass (Bo) has not been identifie. Forest Canopy Density (FCD) is one of the remote sensing methods to detect vegetation density. This study aims to build a stand density estimator with FCD, calculate the average biomass value, and see the relationship between biomass and basal areal. The research began with FCD processing and field data collection which was then processed to calculate stand density. Biomass was calculated using the allometric Y = 0.064*DBH2.657. The estimation model was developed using a simple linear equation. The relationship between stand density values and FCD resulted in a model y = 328*FCD - 10694 with an R2 value of 0.82. The average potential standing biomass was 376.15 tons/ha. The biomass value of each petak ukur was strongly influenced by the stand's basal area. The regression between BA value and biomass was Bo = 8.6688*BA - 78.016 with R2 = 0.86.
