Green mussels are one of the many cultivated molluscs. Until now, the utilization of shell waste is limited for crafts, so that there is a lot of shell waste left that has the opportunity to be used for agriculture. Green mussel shells are known to contain a lot of Ca, Mg, and several other nutrients such as K, Na, Fe, Cu, Zn so it has potential to be used as an amendment. This study aims to determine the effect of green mussel shell powder on soil chemical properties also the growth and production of tomatoes in Podsolic of Jasinga. Completely randomized design was used in this experiment, with 7 treatments consisting of P0 (without green mussel shell powder and calcite), P1 (green mussel shell powder, dose 1,0 x Exch-Al), P2 (green mussel shell powder, dose 1,5 x Exch-Al), P3 (green mussel shell powder, dose 2,0 x Exch-Al), P4 (calcite, dose 1,0 x Exch-Al), P5 (calcite, dose 1,5 x ExchAl), and P6 (calcite, dose 2,0 x Exch-Al) and each treatment was replicated 4 times. The results showed that green mussel shell powder had lower neutralization power than calcite. At comparable doses, green mussel shell powder had an effect on soil chemical properties (pH, Exch-Al, Exch-Ca, Exch-Mg, Exch-K, Base Saturation (BS)) also tomato growth and production that is comparable to calcite. The higher the dose of green mussel shell powder and calcite make higher improvement in soil chemical properties. Green mussel shell powder can be used as an alternative to lime material with a higher dose than calcite.
