Abstract
The internship program was conducted in Sei Batang Ulak Plantation, PT. Ciliandra Perkasa, Kampar, Riau from Februari to June 2013. This program was aimed to improve knowledge and field work skill, and also to understand the harvest aspect of oil palm on technical and managerial aspect. Harvest planning must be conducted well and precisely to gain optimal crop production. Some problems related with harvesting such as harvest planning, harvest density, harvest rotation, and under or over ripe of harvesting bunch fruit. An inaccurate harvest planning could cause unsuitable result between the prediction and the realization, and the use of harvesters must be suited with fruit condition in the field. Condition of less harvest density that was caused by the lack of ripe fruit, could imply the harvest rotation to be shorter. Shorter rotation could increase the losses during harvest and many of harvesters cut under ripe fruit to meet the standard basis of harvest of 900 kg and harvesting area could also become larger through the time.
