Sejak awal tahun 1970-an de/orestasi menjadi masalah penting di Indonesia. The objectives of this research was to investgate the effectiveness of antagonist agensts (Bacillus sp., P. jluorescens, BWA, BCD], BCD2, B3, B5, BG] and BG2) in suppressing bacterial leaf blight disease of A. crassicarpa seedling. both in vitro and in vivo analysis. In vitro analysis showed that the tested antagonist bacteria suppressed the growth of path ogen X ani hom on as campeslris pv. acaciae, proficiently, either by producing antibiotic compounds or nutrient competition mechanism. Meanwhile, in vivo analysis was carried out in seven treatments in a group of antagonist agenst in spraying application and a group of antagonist agenst in splashing application. Statistically, in vivo analysis showed that antagonist agenst gave no effect to germination percentages, seedling height. disease intensity, and stem diameter, either by spraying or splashing application. However, mean values of each treatment showed that BCD I biocontrol agenst tended to affect observed parameters. Supposedly. this antagonist agenst produced more honnones than other agensts did. Finally, antagonist agenst gave the better effects to the seedling by spraying than splashing application.
