The Subsitution of Soybean Meal With Tea Waste in Ration Pellet to The Performance of Cross-Breed Weanling Rabbits.
Abstract
The use of alternative feed can be used to reduce feeding cost. Tea waste is one of bottle beverage industry that can be used as protein resource in rabbits ration due to the high protein contain 27 % (Istirahayu). Twenty female cross-breed weanling rabbits with the initial average body weight 612 ± 89 gram. The experimental design use in this research was completed randomazed design with four treatments and five replications. The data obtained from the experiment was processed using the ANOVA. Whenever a significant different was identified, data processing was continued using the Duncan's Range Test (Steel and Tome, 1993). The amount of treatments shows the level of subtitution of soybean meal with tea waste and concentrated (com 26%, rice brand 20 %, molases 5%, wheat brand 2%, vegetables oil 0.5%, premix 1 %, CaCO3 0.5%), AT0 = 45%: 0% : 55%, AT1 = 30%: 15% : 55%, AT2 = 15% : 30% : 55% and AT3 = = 0% : 45% : 55%. The result shows that the treatment were significantly (p<0,01) higher on dry matter intake, body weight gain and ration convertion. So the rabbit mortality only of treatment AT0. Based on the value dry matter intake, body weight gain and ration convertion the results of this study shows that tea waste can be used as a source of protein in rabbit ranswn up to 45%. The best level of substitution is soybean meal 30 % with 150/0tea waste and 55% concentrate.
