Data is collected from three pet shops around Perak State which took place in February and April 2021. This study used survey forms and questionnaires with ratings based on the five principles of animal welfare and direct observation. Five aspects of animal welfare i.e.Freedom from hunger, thirst, and malnutrition, freedom from discomfort, freedom from pain, injury, and illness, freedom from fear and distress, and freedom to express their natural behavior. The results showed that implementing the principle of welfare of the dogs in the TLC Nova Pet Store was categorized good, followed by ABC Pets and Pets Manor. The welfare of dogs has influenced the infrastructure and management, not the number of dogs in the shop.
