Syok septik merupakan kondisi klinis yang ditandai oleh gangguan sirkulasi, disfungsi organ, dan perubahan metabolisme akibat respons inflamasi sistemik, termasuk perubahan kadar glukosa darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi perubahan kadar glukosa darah pada babi (Sus scrofa domestica) yang mengalami syok septik. Penelitian menggunakan tiga ekor babi jantan berumur 16–20 minggu dengan bobot badan 40–50 kg. Syok septik diinduksi menggunakan infus lipopolisakarida (Escherichia coli O111:B4), kemudian diberikan terapi resusitasi cairan Ringer Laktat. Kadar glukosa darah diukur menggunakan EasyTouch® GCU, sedangkan mean arterial pressure (MAP) digunakan sebagai indikator hemodinamik pada tiga waktu pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh babi mengalami penurunan MAP saat syok septik dan peningkatan setelah terapi resusitasi cairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan kadar glukosa darah selama syok septik bersifat dinamis dan bervariasi antar individu, sehingga perbaikan hemodinamik setelah resusitasi cairan tidak selalu diikuti oleh respons metabolisme glukosa yang seragam.; Septic shock is a clinical condition characterized by circulatory disturbances, organ dysfunction, and metabolic alterations resulting from a systemic inflammatory response, including changes in blood glucose levels. This study aimed to evaluate changes in blood glucose levels in pigs (Sus scrofa domestica) experiencing septic shock. The study used three male pigs aged 16–20 weeks with body weights of 40–50 kg. Septic shock was induced by infusion of lipopolysaccharide (Escherichia coli O111:B4), followed by fluid resuscitation therapy using Ringer’s lactate solution. Blood glucose levels were measured using the EasyTouch® GCU, while mean arterial pressure (MAP) was used as a hemodynamic indicator at three observation time points. The results showed that all pigs experienced a decrease in MAP during septic shock and an increase after fluid resuscitation therapy. Blood glucose levels during septic shock showed dynamic and variable responses among individuals. Therefore, improvement in hemodynamic status following fluid resuscitation was not always accompanied by a uniform metabolic glucose response.

Tick-borne blood parasites, including Theileria spp. and Babesia spp., pose a persistent threat to dairy cattle productivity in West Java, Indonesia, yet their potential effect on milk composition remains poorly understood. This study evaluated the relationship between hemoparasitic infection and milk quality parameters in dairy cattle from Kunak, Bogor Regency and Kuningan, Kuningan Regency. A total of 67 blood samples were examined using Giemsa-stained blood smears, while 268 quarter milk samples were analyzed using the BKMA-MK Milk Analyzer. Theileria infection rate was higher in Kunak (68.75%) than in Kuningan (42.85%), while Babesia was detected exclusively in Kuningan (11.42%). Parasitemia levels remained subclinical infection at 0.34% and 0.52%, with only weak, non-significant correlation observed across all milk quality parameters (r = 0.00–0.20; p &gt; 0.05). These findings suggest that subclinical infection of hemoparasites does not significantly alter milk composition, and that farm management practices may be a more consequential determinant of milk quality.

Newcastle Disease (ND) merupakan penyakit viral pada unggas yang dapat menimbulkan kematian tinggi dan gangguan produktivitas. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis nilai hemogram ayam IPB D2 yang terinfeksi ND berdasarkan kelompok umur. Sebanyak 20 sampel darah dipilih dari 60 sampel arsip, terdiri dari 10 sampel ayam berumur &lt;8 minggu dan 10 sampel ayam berumur &gt;16 minggu. Parameter yang diamati meliputi eritrosit, hemoglobin, hematokrit, indeks eritrosit, leukosit total, diferensial leukosit, dan rasio heterofil/limfosit (H/L). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil menunjukkan sebagian besar parameter tidak berbeda nyata antar kelompok umur (p&gt;0,05). Perbedaan nyata hanya ditemukan pada MCHC (p = 0,003) meskipun nilainya masih berada di sekitar rentang acuan. Persentase limfosit kedua kelompok berada di bawah acuan, sedangkan peningkatan rasio H/L mengindikasikan stres fisiologis atau respons infeksi akut. Umur tidak memengaruhi nilai hemogram ayam IPB D2 yang terserang ND, namun rendahnya persentase limfosit dan tingginya rasio H/L menunjukkan adanya respons fisiologis terhadap infeksi.; Newcastle disease (ND) is a viral disease of poultry that can cause high mortality and reduced productivity. This study aimed to analyze the hemogram values of NDinfected IPB D2 chickens based on age group. A total of 20 blood samples were selected from 60 archived samples, consisting of 10 chickens aged &lt;8 weeks and 10 chickens aged &gt;16 weeks. The parameters evaluated included erythrocyte count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit, erythrocyte indices, total leukocyte count, differential leukocyte count, and the heterophil-to-lymphocyte (H/L) ratio. Data were analyzed descriptively using an independent samples t-test. The results showed that most hematological parameters did not differ significantly between the age groups (p &gt; 0.05). A significant difference was observed only in the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) (p = 0.003), although the values remained within the reference range. The lymphocyte percentages in both groups were below the reference values, whereas an increased H/L ratio indicated physiological stress or an acute infectious response. Age did not affect the hemogram values of ND-infected IPB D2 chickens; however, the low lymphocyte percentages and elevated H/L ratio indicated a physiological response to infection.

Streptococcus agalactiae merupakan penyebab penting mastitis subklinis pada sapi. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi perubahan histopatologis hepatosit setelah pemberian kandidat vaksin S. agalactiae teriradiasi yang diformulasikan dengan trehalosa dan nanopartikel kitosan (VSaC) pada mencit. Sebanyak 20 mencit dibagi secara acak menjadi lima kelompok: kontrol phosphate-buffered saline, trehalosa, nanopartikel kitosan, kandidat vaksin teriradiasi, dan VSaC. Perlakuan diberikan secara intraperitoneal. Pada hari keempat, mencit dieutanasia dan jaringan hati diperiksa secara histopatologis. Apoptosis hepatosit ditemukan pada seluruh kelompok dengan jumlah bervariasi antarzona lobulus. Degenerasi hidropis ringan ditemukan secara tidak konsisten. Nekrosis, infiltrasi sel radang, dan kerusakan morfologi hati tidak ditemukan. VSaC tidak menunjukkan bukti hepatotoksisitas dan berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai kandidat vaksin untuk mencegah mastitis subklinis pada sapi.; Streptococcus agalactiae is an important cause of subclinical mastitis in cattle. This study evaluates the histopathological change of hepatocytes after the injection of an irradiated S. agalactiae vaccine candidate formulated with trehalose and chitosan nanoparticles (VSaC) in mice. Twenty mice were randomly assigned to five groups: phosphate-buffered saline control, trehalose, chitosan nanoparticles, irradiated vaccine candidate, and VSaC. Treatments were administered intraperitoneally. The mice were euthanized on the fourth day, and liver tissues were examined histopathologically. Hepatocyte apoptosis occurred in all groups, with variable numbers across lobular zones. Mild hydropic degeneration was inconsistently observed. No necrosis, inflammatory cell infiltration, or disruption of hepatic morphology were detected. Findings were comparable among groups. VSaC showed no evidence of hepatotoxicity and may be developed as a subclinical mastitis vaccine candidate in cattle.
