Rafflesia zollingeriana merupakan tumbuhan endemik Taman Nasional Meru &#13;
Betiri (TNMB). Populasinnya di TNMB terus menurun akibat perambahan hutan, &#13;
kebakaran hutan, dan aktivitas manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan &#13;
model dan luas kesesuaian habitat R. zollingeriana di TNMB serta mengidentifikasi &#13;
faktor lingkungan yang memengaruhi distribusi populasinya menggunakan model &#13;
MaxEnt. Data perjumpaan R. zollingeriana diperoleh melalui observasi, kemudian &#13;
dikombinasikan dengan data variabel lingkungan. Analisis multikolinearitas &#13;
dilakukan untuk mendeteksi korelasi antar variabel. Model MaxEnt menghasilkan &#13;
nilai luas di bawah kurva sebesar 0,946. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan bahwa &#13;
seluas 1.382,38 ha kategori sangat sesuai, seluas 1.412,98 ha kategori sesuai, dan &#13;
seluas 2.619,49 ha kategori cukup sesuai. Variabel yang paling berpengaruh pada &#13;
model adalah curah hujan, jarak dari pantai, ketinggian, dan suhu permukaan.; Rafflesia zollingeriana is a plant endemic to Meru Betiri National Park &#13;
(TNMB). Its population in TNMB continues to decline due to forest encroachment, &#13;
forest fires, and human activities. This study aims to map the model and extent of &#13;
habitat suitability for R. zollingeriana in TNMB and to identify environmental &#13;
factors that influence its population distribution using MaxEnt model. Data on the &#13;
occurrence of R. zollingeriana was obtained through observation, then combined &#13;
with environmental variable data. Multicollinearity analysis was performed to &#13;
detect correlations between independent variables. The MaxEnt model produced an &#13;
area under curve value of 0.946. The modeling results showed that an area of &#13;
1,382.38 ha was classified as highly suitable, an area of 1,412.98 ha as suitable, and &#13;
an area of 2,619.49 ha as moderately suitable. The variables that had the most &#13;
influence on the model were rainfall, distance from the coast, altitude, and land &#13;
surface temperature.

Penangkaran beo medan (Gracula religiosa religiosa) merupakan upaya &#13;
konservasi penting akibat tekanan perdagangan dan penurunan populasi di alam, &#13;
sehingga memerlukan pengelolaan yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji &#13;
manajemen penangkaran, perilaku makan, dan konsumsi pakan di Kere Ayem Bird &#13;
Farm menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur selama 27 &#13;
hari dengan durasi 7,5 jam/hari. Hasil menunjukkan manajemen tergolong cukup &#13;
baik, namun kesehatan dan lingkungan masih perlu ditingkatkan, dengan mortalitas &#13;
anakan sekitar 50% (2024-2025). Perilaku makan didominasi mengambil pakan &#13;
(41% jantan; 43% betina), diikuti menelan (38-39%) dan mendekati pakan (18&#13;
21%). Konsumsi pakan berbeda, yaitu pisang 57 g dan 30 g, jangkrik 4,5 g, serta &#13;
voer 36 g dan 40 g, yang memengaruhi nutrisi, di mana jantan lebih tinggi energi &#13;
dan cairan (±18,13 g) dan betina lebih tinggi protein (±11,30 g). Keberhasilan &#13;
penangkaran dipengaruhi oleh manajemen, lingkungan, perilaku makan, dan &#13;
kualitas pakan.; The captive breeding of hill mynah (Gracula religiosa religiosa) is an &#13;
important conservation effort due to trade pressure and declining wild populations, &#13;
requiring effective management. This study aimed to analyze captive management, &#13;
feeding behavior, and feed consumption at Kere Ayem Bird Farm using observation, &#13;
interviews, and literature study over 27 days with a duration of 7.5 hours/day. The &#13;
results showed that management was generally adequate, although health and &#13;
environmental aspects still need improvement, with chick mortality reaching &#13;
approximately 50% (2024-2025). Feeding behavior was dominated by food-taking &#13;
activity (41% in males; 43% in females), followed by swallowing (38-39%) and &#13;
approaching food (18-21%). Feed consumption differed between sexes, with &#13;
bananas 57 g and 30 g, crickets 4.5 g, and commercial feed 36 g and 40 g, affecting &#13;
nutrient intake where males had higher energy and water (±18.13 g) while females &#13;
had higher protein (±11.30 g). Captive breeding success is influenced by &#13;
management, environmental conditions, feeding behavior, and feed quality.

Komodo (Varanus komodoensis) saat ini berstatus endangered, sehingga&#13;
upaya konservasi ex situ di lembaga seperti Kebun Binatang Surabaya (KBS)&#13;
menjadi krusial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perilaku&#13;
karakteristik harian, respons interaksi dengan manusia, serta membandingkan&#13;
karakteristik perilaku komodo hasil pembiakan di KBS dengan yang ada di in situ.&#13;
Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 14 hari pada Januari 2026 menggunakan&#13;
metode focal animal sampling dengan teknik one-zero time sampling. Hasil&#13;
menunjukkan bahwa komodo di KBS merepresentasikan insting alami dalam&#13;
delapan kategori perilaku yang telah mengalami modifikasi adaptif. Perubahan&#13;
utama mencakup tingkat penjinakan yang tinggi melalui pembelajaran asosiatif&#13;
terhadap isyarat suara keeper dan toleransi terhadap kehadiran manusia. Penurunan&#13;
sifat waspada dan perilaku arboreal pada anakan teramati akibat ketiadaan predator&#13;
dewasa, serta ditemukan anomali pergerakan. Penggunaan ruang didominasi zona&#13;
terbuka. Data ini menjadi acuan penting bagi manajemen konservasi dan program&#13;
pelepasliaran di masa depan.; The Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is currently endangered, making&#13;
ex-situ conservation efforts at institutions like the Surabaya Zoo (KBS) crucial.&#13;
This study aims to identify characteristic daily behaviors and responses to&#13;
interactions with humans, as well as compare the behavioral characteristics of&#13;
Komodo dragons bred at KBS with those in situ. Data collection was conducted&#13;
over 14 days in January 2026 using focal animal sampling with a one-zero time&#13;
sampling technique. The results indicated that the komodo dragons exhibited&#13;
natural instincts that have undergone adaptive modification across eight behavioral&#13;
categories. Key changes include a high level of domestication through associative&#13;
learning of keeper vocal cues and tolerance to human presence. A decrease in&#13;
alertness and arboreal behavior in juveniles was observed due to the absence of&#13;
adult predators, and movement anomalies were also observed. Space use was&#13;
dominated by open. This data serves as an important reference for future&#13;
conservation management and reintroduction programs.

Hutan kota merupakan ruang terbuka hijau perkotaan yang berperan dalam menjaga fungsi ekologis. Tekanan lingkungan dan aktivitas manusia dapat memengaruhi kesehatan pohon dan kemampuan penyediaan jasa lingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai kondisi kesehatan pohon serta menduga nilai jasa lingkungan di Hutan Kota Wasesa (HKW) menggunakan metode Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) dan aplikasi i-Tree Eco. Penilaian terhadap 53 individu pohon menunjukkan bahwa kondisi kesehatan pohon di HKW tergolong baik, yaitu 30,2% pohon berada pada kelas sehat, 60,4% pada kelas kerusakan ringan, dan 9,4% pada kelas kerusakan sedang. Pohon dengan kerusakan berat tidak ditemukan. Kondisi tajuk didominasi nilai visual peringkat tajuk (VCR) 4 dan kerapatan tegakan mencapai 82%. Nilai simpanan karbon berdasarkan i-Tree Eco mencapai 26,21 ton/ha, serapan CO2 mencapai 3,18 ton/ha/tahun, dan produksi O2 mencapai 8,55 ton/ha/tahun. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa HKW berperan penting dalam menyediakan jasa lingkungan untuk mendukung kualitas lingkungan perkotaan.; Urban forests as an essential green open spaces play an important role in supporting ecological processes in urban environments. However, environmental pressures and human activities can affect tree health and their capacity to provide ecosystem services. This study aims to assess tree health conditions and estimate the value of ecosystem services at Wasesa Urban Forest (WUF) using the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method and the i-Tree Eco application. The assessment of 53 individual trees showed that for overall trees in WUF tree health was classified as having a good, with 30,2% of trees categorized as healthy, 60,4% experiencing minor damage, and 9,4% experiencing moderate damage. No trees were classified as severely damaged. Crown condition, which was dominated by a visual crown rating (VCR) value of 4, along with a stand density of 82%. Based on i-Tree Eco analysis, carbon storage reached 26,21 tons/ha, CO2 sequestration amounted to 3,18 tons/ha/yr, and oxygen production reached 8,55 tons/ha/yr. This strongly indicates that WUF has been playing an important role to support urban environmental quality.
