<summary type="text">The Role of Integrated Pest Management in the Green Revolution in Indonesia

For centuries rice has been the major crop on which Indonesians depend for carbohydrate consumption. To meet increased consumption needs, due to the rapid population growth, the Indonesian government has introduced the Bimas (mass guidance) and Inmas (mass intensification) programs. Since these programs were launched, rough rice production increased substantially from 13.7 million tons in 1966 to 26.3 million tons in 1979 [3]. However, this increase does not meet the annual needs of the country because of the progresivepopulation increase.
