dc.description.abstract | Green mussel (Perna viridis) is an animal that is sessil. This mussel can be find in Jakarta Bay in wild live or cultured live. This research aim to know a heavy metals absorbtion skill of small green mussle. The research is done by placing a small green mussle on Muara Kamal by 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 m from Kamal Muara estuaty to sea and in beach of Onrust Island. The research get a result that accumulation of heavy metals (Hg, Cd, Cr, Pb and Sn) is the highest on green mussel than on water and sediment. The highest heavy metal that is absorbing is mercuty (Hg). Small mussle be able to heavy metals biofilter, especially Hg, and can be a vacuum cleaner for heavy metals pollution in sea water. | id |
