KARAKTERISTIK SEMEN SEGAR KELINCI LOP DAN REX

Abstract

Evaluating rabbit reproduction by examining the quality of its ejaculated semen is an effort to enhance its potential. The study was conducted to investigate the quality of semen from Lop and Rex breed. Semen samples was collected by using artificial vagina, the semen was evaluated macro and microscopically. Evaluation included examination of semen volume, pH, consistency, color, mass movement , motility, individual scores, concentration, live sperm, morphology using carbofuchsin staining. Data was analyz ed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Mass movement, motility, and individual scores Rex 's sperm were significantly different from Lop's, but not significantly different for other param eters.
