      Abstract
A study'ad been conducted to analyze cropping pattern of agroforestry in three zone of Cianjur watershed. Those three zones were the upper stream (> 1000 m asl), the middle stream (300-1000 m asl) and the down stream (0-300 m asl). Observation was done to samples of agroforestry plots and interview to respondents for each village. The. results showed that there were differences of cropping pattern within the three z.ones. In the down stream area, agroforestry were practiced in community lands and the flat area. Cropping pattern was mixed croI],.l}ing.. irregular pl.anting space, minimum tillage, low. maintenance an.d the farm~rs used the local seed for"plantlOg. In the middle stream area, agroforestry practices were found In community lands and the tea estate plan-tat ion. The cropping pattern of cash crops found were single commodity and multi-commodity (alley cropping), regular planting space and planting on the line and blocks. In the tea area, Swietenia macrophylla King was found predominantly. In the upper stream, agroforestry practices were found in a forest garden. This area is the buffer zone of Gede Pangrango Mountaint. Cropping pattern found in single commodity (line systems) and multi-commodity (line system and mixed cropping). Trees i.e. Pinus merkusii, Eucalyptus deglupta, Swietenia macrophylla King were found predominant. Pruning was a common practices found in order to avoid effect of shading.
