dc.description.abstract | Plant spacing arrangement is important to get optimum condition for jack bean growth in order to minimize competition between plants in utilizing the growing environmental factors, so that increase quantity and quality of seed production can be reached. The objective of this researchwas to obtain the plant spacingthat can increase production and quality of jackbean seed.This research was conducted from May to October 2015at Sawah Baru of IPB Field Station. Experiment used random block design
with single factor and three replications. The experiment consisted of 6 level combinations of plant spacing and pruning ie: A2= without pruning; (70 x 70) cm2; A3= without pruning; (100 x 100) cm2; A4= without pruning; double row (50 x 50_100) cm2; B1= pruning; (50 x 50) cm2; B2= pruning; (70 x 70) cm2; B4= pruning; double row (50 x 50_100) cm2. The result showed that the best treatment was without pruning with plant spacing of double row (50 x 50 _100) cm. | id |
