dc.description.abstractB. tabaci is polyphagous insect and has approximately 600 host plants. B. tabaci is an important pest on soybean. These researches were to study the biology and statistic demographic of B. tabaci on two soybean varieties, Edamame and Wilis. These researches were conducted at Wish Laboratory Bogor Indonesia, from January to April 2015. It is shown there are differences of the biology and statistic demographic of B. tabaci reared on Edamame and Wilis. Egg incubation period, fourth instar and pupae stadia, and life cycle of B. tabaci reared on Edamame are shorter than that reared on Wilis. The fecundity of B. tabaci reared on Edamame are lower than that reared on Wilis. The gross reproduction rate (GRR), net reproduction rate (Ro), intrinsic growth rate (r) and doubling time of B. tabaci on Edamame respectively are 28.365 ± 0.530, 9.925 ± 0.182, 0.095 ± 0.001 and 7.330 ± 0.069. The gross reproduction rate (GRR), net reproduction rate (Ro), intrinsic growth rate (r) and doubling time of B. tabaci on Wilis respectively are 46.509 ± 0.725, 16.428 ± 0.252, 0.102 ± 0.001 and 6.808 ± 0.042. The population growth of B. tabaci reared on Edamame are slower than that reared on Wilis.id
