Spirulina platensis is a blue green algae containing phycocyanin biopigment and antioxidant, which are benefi cial for healthy. Production of biopigments from microalgae are infl uenced by nutrition and harvest periods . Th is study aimed to determine eff ect of nutrition and harvest periods on biopigment production of Spirulina platensis. Th e cultivation was conducted in the laboratory using media of KT (Zarrouk modifi cation by LIPI), MT (Zarrouk modifi cation by Hastuti) and Walne. Th e phycocyanin content of S. platensis in media MT (10.07 mg/mL) was not signifi cantly diff erent from Walne medium (7.49 mg/mL), but signifi cantly diff erent in media KT (0.71 mg/mL). Th ere was no signifi cant antioxidant activity of S. platensis in the three medias. Phycocyanin content of S. platensis on the 12th days (10.42 mg/mL) was signifi cantly diff erent from the 6th days (2.70 mg/mL), the 14th days (8.14 mg/mL), and the 17th days (3.09 mg/mL). Th ere was no signifi cant antioxidant activity of S. platensis at the four harvest period.
