dc.description.abstractTh e purposes of this research were to study the eff ectiveness and to determine the concentration of Psidium guajava var. pyrifera leaf extract on inhibiting the excretion level of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) during wet system transportation. Th e extract with various concentrations (0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1% (v/v)) was added to the medium of fi sh. Changes in water quality were observed for 2 hours. Th e LC50 of the extract was 4.15%. Th e extract reduced the metabolic level of fi sh, which indicated by decreasing the level of CO2 (22%) and TAN (78.6%) for 2 hours of transportation period. Th e value of CO2 and TAN excretion of fi sh which treated with white pulp guava leaf extract was lower than that of untreated fi sh, but higher turbidity value was caused by the dissolved particles from the extract. Th e results showed that the white pulp guava leaf extract can inhibit the excretion level of tilapia.id
