dc.description.abstractTurbulent mixing process in coastal seas of eastern part of Kalimatan, between delta of Mahakam and Balikapapan Bay, was evaluated from density inversions in CTD profiles, known as Thorpe analysis. Before Thorpe analysis, wavelet denoising was applied on CTD signal to remove noise. It reveats that overturn regions.were found at surface layer up to l5 m depth, and near bottom layer. The turbulent energy kirretic dissipation rate € of these layers was about l0-7-10-5 Wkg-1. And the density of eddy diffusivify K, indicates the relatively strong turbulent (K,p= 10-4-10'-3 m2/s; occurred at the rnouth of delta of Mahakam meanwhile no turbulent mixing was found toward Balikpapan Bay.en
