Waste management is an important innova tion in en vironmental manageme nt. It has significant r ole for minimizing the e ffect of industrial activities. Unfortuna tely, this practice has not been fully adopted in Lampung ta pioca industries. The purpose of this paper is to a na lyze innovation r esislance among Lampung ta pioca and industry in adopling waste management practices. This research offers collabora tion form to overcome these barr iers. According to Ram and Sheth ' s theory, five barriers namely usage, value, r isk, tradition, a nd image barrie rs were used to investigate the impediment. A- case study methodology \\ere conducted · with eight respondents which represent stakeholde rs in Lampung tapioca industry (academics, government, and t a pioca firm). The data were collected through ~e mi -stru c tured inter views, field obser vation , and internal documents. The findings show that the awareness about waste management practices haw been risen among stakeholde rs. It indicates with po~ itive attitude toward usage bar rier and value ba rrier. Howe ver, risk, tradition and image a re the intense ba r riers to adopt was te management pr actices. They have found difficulties in technical and management a spect to implement wa ste manageme nt. This researc h has p ractical implications to decis ion maker and innovators in col'3boration strategies to overcome resistance to innovat ions like wa ste management practices are discussed.
