Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Usaha Perikanan Tangkap di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Kuala Tungkal Jambi

Abstract

Tanjung Jabung Barat regency of Jambi province famous for their fisheries business, located on PPP Kuala Tungkal. The main fishing gear in PPP Kuala Tungkal are the gillnet, trawl mini, and togok. Declining fisheries resources due to uncontrollable will affect the fishermen social and economic life. Social aspect measured by fishing operation patterns, source affected by financial loan and social assurance. Economic aspect measured by fishermen income level in the fishing effort. Social and economic conditions of fishing communities around PPP Kuala Tungkal is very important to be studied in order to know the level of fishermen prosperity and used to fix fishing patterns system in PPP Kuala Tungkal Jambi. There for, the research conducted with survey methods through interviews with fishermen to know the social and economic conditions of fishermen in PPP Kuala Tungkal. Social conditions from the pattern of fishing operation carried out in one day and still, the most desirable source is touke, and there is no social assurance received by fishermen in PPP Kuala Tungkal. Economic conditions are still favorable, measured from the amount of venture investment, revenues, cost, profits, R/C value and NPV value. Business gillnet and trawl mini generate profits because R/C>1 and NPV>1, so that the business gillnet and trawl mini still feasible, while business of togok generate profits with R/C>1, but NPV<1, so that this business losses.
