Zooplankton is important component in marine food chain. The observation was conducted in the coastal waters of Tangerang with the purpose to provide information regarding the spasial distribution of zooplankton and its relation to the water quality which is presumed to be affected by material input from several nearby rivers. During research there were found 12 groups of zooplankton which consist of Protozoa, Rotifera, Crustacea, Ctenophora, Chaetognata, Urochordata, Nematoda, larvae of Coelenterata, larvae of Echinodermata, larvae of Gastropoda, larvae of Polychaeta, and larvae of Pelecypoda. The spasial distribution of zooplankton showed that zooplankton separated into two locations: location 1 (Kronjo, Mauk, Rawa Saban, and Tanjung Pasir Station) and location 2 (Dadap Station). The water quality of Tangerang Coastal Waters was proper for optimum life of zooplankton. Ammonia and salinity indicated to be more influence towards the distribution of zooplankton in the coastal waters of Tangerang Regency.en
