      Abstract
      Teh Botol Sosro (TBS) is one of the main products of tea processing in PT Sinar Sosro KPB Cibitung. The total production efficiency was influenced by efficiency in the water treatment process unit, extraction process unit, mixing process unit, and bottling process unit. TBS production efficiency in 2011 was 58.24% with total production of 228 129 672 bottles. The efficiency continuously decreased in 2012 and 2013 at 57.08% and 56.35% with total production of TBS 271 265 184 bottles and 246 664 944 bottles, respectively. The decrease of production efficiency was affected by machines performance. The purpose of this study was to analyse the opportunity for cleaner production implementation and to formulate its alternative strategy for improving the efficiency of TBS production process. The methods used in this study were quick scan on the production process of TBS, and implementation feasibility assessment. The result from quick scan showed that inefficiency of TBS production occured in some unit processes, namely water treatment process unit, extraction process unit, mixing process unit, and bottling process unit. The inefficiency of production with respect to the highest breakdown time were the bottle washing process unit and fillercrowner process unit. Alternative strategies of cleaner production recommended are implementation of good operating practices, the use of control level sensors for the extraction tank and mixing tank, good maintenance of bottle washer units and liquid sweet tea (TCM) filling units of as a preventive action. Result of the feasibility assessment and the highest frequency (modus) of breakdown time, it is recommended the priority for implementation of cleaner production in the the bottle washing machine maintenance system.
