Flat grain beetle, Cryptolestes sp. is a secondary pest of cereal grains in storage. Controlling this pest is commonly conducted by fumigation with phospine. Certain essential oils have the potency to be used as alternative fumigant. The aims of this research was to test the effectiveness of essential oils distilled from clove, lemon peel, and mint leaves against Cryptolestes sp. Essential oils to be tested was dripped onto 10 mm filter paper, air dried, and sticked on to inside part of petri dish cap. Twenty tested insects and their food then transferreed into petri dish, the petri dish then covered with its cap and sealed with plasticine to make it gastight. Mortality of test insects was observed after 72 hours. The results showed that clove essential oil caused 94% mortality at the dose of 0.02 ml/l of air, lemon oil that caused 70% mortality at the dose of 0.2 ml/l of air, and mint oil caused 94% mortality at the dose of 0.04 ml/l of air.en
