      Abstract
To study the sustainable fishing management, an integrated analysis of ecology economy should be sistematicaly conducted. The objective of this study are: (1) to determine the ecological and economic impact of fishing activities on community structure and trophic level of catch; 2) to determine optimum utilization fish stock based on bio-economic aspects. The results showed that the catches landed in PPN Palabuhanratu were dominated by highest food web level (trophic level) of carnivore group fish (TL5). The annual catch of this TL group was increase, the potentially threaten its prey of TL 2 to TL 4. The most dominant catch in study location was hairtail (Trichiurus savala). Hairtail was dominanly caught by hand line and payang (seine nets). The catch of this spesies was larger than the size of the allowable size based on length at first maturity parameter. Length-weight relationships of this species seemed negative allometric growth pattern (b = 2,6734). The sustainable utilization of the hairtail fish stock in the fishing ground of Palabuhanratu is 222.248 kg with annual effort of 14.571 trips for handline fishing fleet and 6.267 trips for payang fishing fleet. Bio-economic optimization of payang fishing fleet was higher than hand line fishing fleet.
