Water has a great deal of important functions for bodies, particularly for pregnant mothers. During the pregnancy water serves as the main transportation which delivers various nutrients for fetuses. The objective of this study was to analyze the water consumption on pregnant mothers on second trimester and factors that influenced the water consumption. This study was carried out in Bogor, using secondary data resulted from Study on Nutritional Status and Food Patterns of Women at Child-bearing Age, Pregnant and Lactating Mothers was carried out by SEAFAST Center IPB. The cross sectional study involving 203 pregnant women at their second trimester of pregnancy with ages ranged from 20 to 40, in 2 nd (Q2), 3 rd (Q3), and 4 th (Q4) quintile of household expenditure. The quintile criteria calculated based on the socio-economic levels of subjects were analyzed from the SUSENAS 2009 data. Dietary information was collected using 2x24 hour food recall. The average of water requirement of the samples was 2635.2 ± 245.2 mL/day, while the average of total water consumption was 2425.0±377.5 mL/day. The contribution of water from beverages, food, and metabolic were 53.0%, 23.2%, and 18.2% respectively. The average of total water consumption in Q4 was higher (2531.1±356.0 mL/day), than Q3 (2377.0±388.6 mL/day) and Q2 (2320.3±391.2 mL/day). Water adequacy level of the samples was categorized as sufficient; overall the percentage of water adequacy was 94.5%, decreased with the decrease of households socio-economics within Q4 to Q2. The result of correlation test showed that there was significant difference between water consumption on food category (beans and its processed food) and beverages (tea, milk, and coffee) in samples on 2 th nd, 3 rd, and 4 th quintile. The higher the social economy level, the higher milk consumption level, on the contrary, the higher the social economy level, the lesser the consumption of tea, coffee, and water from beans and its processed foods. Moreover there was difference between water consumption on meat and fruit in samples on 2nd, 3 rd, and 4 th quintile. The higher the social economy level, the higher water consumption of meat and fruit. The result of linear regression test showed that age and education were more influenced to water consumption fulfillment, which the higher the education level, the more fulfilled the water adequecy level.en
