dc.description.abstract | Hyposidra talaca is one of the most important pest in tea plantation and can cause significant yield losses. To effectively control we need to know the biology these pest on different host plants. This study aimed to determine the effect of tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintrong leaves of on the biology of H. talaca. H. talaca were reared on different host plants and were observed for life cycle, fecundity, fertility, mortality, and feed consumtion. The life cycles of male H. talaca on tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintrong are respectively 62.13, 63.68, 63.09, 62.23, and 46.46 days and the life cycles of females H. talaca on tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintong are respectively 58.66, 59.21, 58.89, 57.37, and 31.89 days. The fecundity of H. talaca on tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintrong are respectively 2720.67, 1967.33, 1482.67, 2872.33, and 2009.33 eggs, while the fertility H. talaca on tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintrong are respectively 84.00, 84.67, 75.00, 90.67, and 86.33 %. The average rate of mortality in the life cycles of H. talaca on tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintrong are respectively 5.5, 10.56, 13.33, 15.55, and 10.01 %. Average total feed consumption rate of larvae of H. talaca on tea, suren, sengon, cinnamon, and sintrong are respectively 1.97, 0.98, 0.77, 2.29, and 1.32 g. | en |
