The objective of this experiment was to study the effects of zinc supplementation in Friesian Holstein (FH) calves on total protein, albumin, globulin and albumin-globulin ratio (A/Gratio) profiles. Nine healthy Holstein calves,6-8 months of age were used in this experiment. Calves were divided into three groups. Each group were consisted of three calves i.e. with zero(control), 60 ppm and 120 ppmof Zn supplementation, respectively. Blood samples were taken from jugular vein prior to and every month following Zn supplementation for three months for total protein, albumin, globulin and albumin-globulin ratio (A/Gratio) analysis. Result of this experiment indicated that the concentration of total protein were fluctuative in all groups (6.4-7.87 g/dl). Albumin concentration tended to increase with therange from of 3.57 to 3.9 g/dl,while globulin concentration tended to decrease with range2.67 to 4.25 g/dl. A/G ratio tended to increase between 0.88 to 1.43. In conclusion, the profiles of protein on calves supplemented by 60 ppm and 120 ppmof Zn for 3 months were in a normal range.
