Gambaran Sel Darah Putih dan Indeks Stres Ayam Broiler yang Diberi Jamu Bagas Waras (Jahe, Kunyit, dan Kencur) melalui Air Minum

Abstract

Jamu bagas waras is combination of jahe, kunyit, and kencur. The research was conducted to study the influent of jamu bagas waras to white blood cells profile and stress index on broiler. Twenty broilers were assigned into a complete random design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments doses of jamu bagas waras were consist of 0 mL/L (as control), 0.1 mL/L (treatment 1), 1 mL/L (treatment 2), and 10 mL/L (treatment 3). The administration of jamu bagas waras was given orally through drinking water daily. Blood analysis was conducted by using haemocytometer and blood smear method. The results of this research showed that the total number of leukocytes and lymphocytes in broiler with jamu bagas waras administration for 28 days are higher than control group. The number of monocytes and heterophils in broiler with jamu bagas waras administration are lower than the control group. It was concluded that jamu bagas waras administration at a dose of 0.1 mL/L improved white blood cells profile and decreased stress index of broiler shown through the ratio reduction of heterophil/ lymphocyte.
