dc.description.abstractChildren’s diet quality becomes attention because of the poor quality diet in childhood is brought to adulthood and increasing the risk factor of chronic disease. The study aim to analyze children’s diet quality and its association to their nutritional status. The study design was cross sectional. Sample size was 111 by using purposive sampling. The collected data were individual characteristic, family characteristic, nutrition education, food habit, food consumption, and diet quality. Diet quality was measured by using Healthy Eating Index (HEI) with the approachment to Indonesian dietary guidelines. Data was analyzed by using chisquare and correlation Spearman. The mean of HEI score was 46 ± 7.0 and indicating need improvement diet quality. There was no significant association between individual and family characteristic with children diet quality (p>0.05). Higher HEI score were associated with lower energy intake, higher protein, carbohydrate, calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin C intakes (p<0.05). There was positive association children diet quality with nutritional status (p>0.05).en
