dc.description.abstractThis internship program was aimed generally to improve skills and experience in both technical aspect of oil palm planting and man management. This program especially was aimed to analyze the vigourity of oil palm germ so that can produce a more quantitative description of vigourous germ with the approach of germ vigourity grow strength (VKT bibit) and germ stamina. This program was conducted from February to June 2013 at Minamas Research Center (MRC), PT Anugerah Sumber Makmur, Minamas Plantation, Riau. This program used three methods (1) working actively in Breeding Department of MRC as daily worker, co-mandor, and co-field assistant, (2) holding interviews and discussion with workers, mandors, assistant, and manager, (3) book studying as additional material for descriptive analysis. This analysis activity used the descriptive analysis, t-student test, and correlation test. Secondary data consisted of site map, areal broad, soil and climate condition, basic population, organization structure, and plant condition. The last pecentation of selection, the Socfindo germ form three blocks resulted 85.9%. The germ vigourity analysis with the approach of germ vigourity grow strength resulted that the Socfindo type germs which were planted in block B6 of PSE nursery had the highest VKT around 70%. Meanwhile block A2 and A3 had VKT around 60%. The germ vigourity analysis with the approach of germ stamina resulted for Socfindo type vigourous germ was 0.89 ± 0.31 m3. From the test of comparation between the result of vigourous analysis resulted not different at the α test rate = 5%. From this we can concluded that qualitative analysis (selection) as conventional method to anlysing vigourity germ has a same result with the quantitative method (VKT bibit and germ stamina) and feasible to use this as method to analysis germ vigourity.en
