Pengaruh Jenis Anyaman dan Perekat Terhadap Kualitas Sifat Fisis dan Mekanis Bambu Lapis dari Bambu Andong (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae (Steudel)Widjaja))
Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of wove and adhesive type on the quality of woven bamboo plywood from andong with the use of dipping methods. Bamboo plywood bonded using MDI (Methylen Diphenyl Isocyanate) and PVAC (Polyvinyl Acetate). Woven bamboo was soaked in diluted adhesive. It was ensured that the adhesive spread equally on the bamboo’s surfaces (including inner bark strip and outer strip). Results show that in treatment, moisture content, modulus of elasticity (MOE), shrinkage and bonding strength did not have effect in improving the properties of bamboo plywood whereas in treatment density, modulus of rupture (MOR) and thickness swelling affected in improving the properties of bamboo plywood made from bamboo andong. The usage of PVAc did not improve physicals and mechanical properties of bamboo plywood, and did not meet ISO (SNI) 01-5008.2-2000 standard. The usage MDI did not improve bamboo plywood’s quality and its MOE and MOR did not meet the standard; moreover, its moisture content, density, and bonding strength did meet the the ISO (SNI) 01-5008.2-2000 standard
