      Abstract
A bucket elevator has been designed and constructed for vertical conveying of corn, as a Part of integrated system of Green House Effect (GHE)-Hybrid Dryer and In-Store Dryer (ISD). The bucket elevator was designed to convey dry corn from the GHE-Hybrid dryer to the ISD, at a capacity of 1.400 kg/h, a vertical distance of 5.1 m, a belt speed of 0.433 m/s and a bucket spacing of 0.3 m. A set of working performance test was conducted to measure the working performance of the bucket elevator such as the capacity, residue grain, broken grain, and power consumption of the elevator, using three levels of grain moisture content (i.e. 14%, 18% and 28%). The test results were discussed in this paper. The first test results showed that the average of head wheel rotational speed was 92 rpm, the average capacity was 612.22 kg/h, the average residue grain was 0.27%, the average broken grain was 0.1% and the average electrical power consumption was 308 Watt. Since the capacity was very lower than the expected capacity (1400 kg/h), the head wheel rotational speed was increased to 184 rpm. The test results using this speed showed that the capacity was increased to 945.47 kg/h, the residue grain was 0.17%, the broken grain was 0.44% the power consumption was 324 Watt. The test using tree levels of moisture content showed that the higher moisture content produced a lower capacity, and higher residue grain and broken grain. The capacity was 1.000 kg/h at 14% moisture content. However at 18% and 28% moisture content the capacity were 630 kg/h and 500 kg/h respectively.
