dc.description.abstractDuring the manual sorting and grading tomato, the yield product will be less uniform. The result in manual sorting and grading has less accuracy, so needed a better method in sorting and grouping tomato. The growth of image processing method enable to determine maturity level of tomato without destroying it. This research target is to learn the maturity parameter of fresh tomato using image processing, then compile the algorithm of image processing to detennine the maturity level of fresh tomato and also classify tomato according to its maturity level. Parameter used for subdividing tomato according to its maturity level are red colour index and green colour index. Validation based on red colour index yielding accuracy of 100% for full green tomato, 48% for green-red tomato and 100% for full red tomato. Validation based on green colour index yielding accuracy of 100% for full green tomato, 62% for green-red tomato, and 100%, afor full red tomato.en
