dc.description.abstractForms of political participation by the community in the selection has 5 forms which is participation in voting, campaign, election committee, persuading others to participate, and following the vote counting process. Participation in voting has high level, while participation in other forms tend to be low. There is not difference forms of political participation between the upper and lower stratum of community. There are four motives of social action on political participation, namely instrumental rational, value-oriented rational, affective, and traditional. The highest level motive in political participation is value-oriented rational in the upper and lower stratum of community and traditional motive on the lower stratum of community, while other motives tend to be low. Value-oriented rational motive, which is high, shows that the participation of community in the selection based on democracy-value in community. Traditional motive, which is high in the lower stratum in community, shows that community raise traditional-value in political participation.en
