Sorghum is an alternative crop for food, feed and biofuel. The objective of the research was to evaluate yield potential of sorghum lines generated through hybridization between two national varieties, namely UPCA S1 and NUMBU. The research was conducted at Leuwikopo, Bogor from January to April 2011. Each line grown in a row with a planting space 70 X 15 cm2. Traits observed were plant height, stem diameter, leaf number/plant, panicle length, seed weight/plant and 1000 thousand seed weight. The result showed that there were variation among lines evaluated for all traits observed. There were 19 best lines selected based on seed weight per panicle, weight per 1000 seeds, and length of panicle.en
