Phytophthora capsid as causal agent of Basal stem rot (BSR) disease of black pepper (Piper ningrum) is main pathogen of this plant. This research was carried out to investigate some endophytic bacteria to control P. capsid. The methods were included (1) exploration and identification of endophytic bacteria, (2) antagonism testing of endophytic bacteria to P. capsid by in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that 134 endophytic bacteria had been isolated from the leaves and roots of black pepper and 3 isolates had been selected based on the highest antibiosis in antagonism test by in vitro, they are DJ4, AN21, and DJ8. The incubation period of endophytic bacteria treatment was longer than control treatment, 12-15 days after inoculation (dai) and 10 dai, respectively. The application of endophytic bacteria was able to suppress BSR disease from 51.95% to 95.63% in black pepper seedlings and the disease severity in ranged of 1,28%29,35%. The highest microbial diversity index value reached 0.65 isolates were AN21 and fungicide that is able to lower organic matter content and have the lowest diversity index 0.31. Molecular characterization based on the sequence partial of 16S rRNA, 3 isolates of endophytic bacteria (DJ4, AN21, and DJ8) were identified as Agrococcus jeunensis, Delfitia tsuruhnatenensis, and Bacillus licheniformis, respectively. These bacteria were not phytopathogenen
