Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) is one of the nutritional problems in Indonesia that needs to get deep attention because it is closely related to mental development and intelligence that can affect the quality of human resources. The study aimed to analyze the association between consumption of protein and iodine food sources with iodine status of elementary school students in the coastal area of Karawang District. The design of study was a cross sectional with 142 elementary school students as the subjects. Primary data consists of food consumption, anthropometry, and iodine urine. The results showed that the mean of iodine status of students was categorized as excess iodine status. Based on BMI/A and H/A index, most of the subjects had normal nutritional status. The average amount of iodine intake and iodine adequacy levels of the subjects were mostly categorized as adequate. There was a significant negative correlation (P <0.05) between protein adequacy level (r = -0.253) with iodine status. There was no significant correlation between intake of total iodine and nutritional status with iodine status (p> 0.05).en
