There are many Indonesian people who does not complete their education in senior high school level because of economic problem. This study aimed to analyze the influence of family expenditure for education and academic caring practices on learning motivation of high school students. The study involved 60 high school students and their mothers whom the family as beneficiaries of “Bantuan Langsung Tunai (BLT)” in Cibungbulang Subdistrict, Bogor District. The average of family expenditure that was allocated for senior high school education amounted to 16,42 percent of the total expenditure. Academic caring practices consist of self discipline and achievement support. More than half mothers (61,67%) have implemented good academic parenting. Learning motivation consist of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. More than half of the students have medium learning motivation (51,67%). The result of regression indicate that the factor that can increase student’s learning motivation is academic caring practices
