Perbandingan Metode Maserasi, Remaserasi, Perkolasi dan Reperkolasi Terhadap Rendemen Ekstrak Temulawak (Curcuma Xanthorrhiza Roxb).
Abstract
This research focusing to analyze the best type of simple extraction method for industry that optimize the output based on oleoresin proporsition. This research comparing four type of simple extraction method including maceration, remaceration, percolation, and repercolation. This research was divided in two parts. The first part called as pre-research and the second part is the main research. The pre-research gave information that the sample of java turmeric consist of water (14.97%), starch (58.56%), fat (7.45%), protein (7.07%), crude fiber (7.63%), total ash (5.07%) and needs two hours of washing time. The main research gave information about yield percentage of each type of method. Maceration method produce 12.20% to 12.60% of yield. Remaceration method produce 15.60% to 16.70% of yield. Percolation method produce 12.50% to 15.00% of yield, and repercolation method produce 15% to 16% of yield. Statistical calculations using SAS 9.1 indicated that the difference of time was insignificant to yield value. HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis indicated that the retention time of all sample was according to the six minutes of curcumin standard retention time. The highest curcumin value produced in 12 hours length of maceration (6.7 %) and the lowest curcumin produced in 16 hours length of maceration (0.6 %). The lowest curcumin caused by curcumin degradation that happened as long as the extraction process. Based on this research, the best extraction method was four hours length of maceration. It has 15.60% yield with 6.5 % of curcumin.
